| WHEREAS, The 70th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed | ||
| cause for celebration, and Mike Nevil of McKinney is marking this | ||
| significant milestone in his life on August 4, 2013; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A prominent member of the North Texas business | ||
| community, Mr. Nevil drew on his experience as a second-generation | ||
| mason to found Nevil Masonry Supply in 1976; since that time, he has | ||
| gone on to establish two additional companies, Plano Cast Stone and | ||
| Tejas Textured Stone, and today his family continues to operate A&B | ||
| Masonry; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Nevil has inspired many people with his devotion | ||
| to his faith and his family; he currently serves on the board of | ||
| directors of McKinney Christian Academy, and through the years, he | ||
| has participated in a number of mission trips to help individuals in | ||
| need; blessed with the love and encouragement of his wife, Linda, he | ||
| is the proud father of two children, Brad Nevil and Celeste Nevil | ||
| Gwynn, and he also takes great pride in his four grandchildren, | ||
| Ansley and Michael Nevil and Maddie and Nathan Gwynn; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In his free time, Mr. Nevil is an avid reader, with | ||
| John Grisham novels being particular favorites; he is a fan of 1950s | ||
| music as well and enjoys visiting Creede, Colorado, where he spends | ||
| most summers; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mike Nevil is respected and admired by all who have | ||
| the good fortune to know him, and he may indeed reflect with | ||
| satisfaction on 70 years of life well lived; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby honor Mike Nevil on the | ||
| event of his 70th birthday and extend to him sincere best wishes for | ||
| continued happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Nevil as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
