R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Gabriel Reta has been named valedictorian of the
  Class of 2019 at Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, and he
  indeed merits special recognition for receiving this significant
  honor; and
         WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only
  intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
  highest academic standards; in securing his place as the top
  ranking student in his class, Mr. Reta demonstrated a thorough
  understanding of a wide range of subjects, and his attainment of
  this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement of a notable
  high school career; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Daniel and Melba Reta, Mr. Reta plans to
  attend The University of Texas at Austin to study supply chain
  management; in addition to the pride inherent in being recognized
  for his hard work, he has gained the opportunity to address his
  fellow seniors at commencement and to reflect on their shared
  history as well as their hopes and ambitions; and
         WHEREAS, During his years at Mary Carroll High School,
  Gabriel Reta has earned the respect and admiration of both his
  teachers and classmates, and his exceptional scholastic ability and
  commitment to excellence have opened the way to a bright and
  promising future for this outstanding young Texan; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Gabriel Reta on graduating as the
  valedictorian of the Mary Carroll High School Class of 2019 and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success as he begins
  the next exciting chapter of his life; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Reta as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
