WHEREAS, Adam Mendoza of Pilot Point High School once again | ||
reached the pinnacle of success by winning the gold medal in the 3A | ||
boys' 800-meter run at the 2019 University Interscholastic League | ||
Track & Field State Meet; and | ||
WHEREAS, Joining the top high school competitors in Texas at | ||
Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 10 and 11, Mr. Mendoza turned | ||
in a notable performance in his fourth and final year at the | ||
contest, claiming his third consecutive state title in the | ||
800-meter run in a time of 1 minute, 57.35 seconds; and | ||
WHEREAS, Following graduation, Mr. Mendoza plans to continue | ||
running cross-country and track at North Central Texas College; and | ||
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for | ||
high school track and field athletes, Adam Mendoza has brought | ||
great pride to his school and to his many supporters in the local | ||
community, and he will cherish the memories of his outstanding | ||
accomplishments for years to come; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate Adam Mendoza on his first-place | ||
finish in the 3A boys' 800-meter run at the 2019 UIL Track & Field | ||
State Meet and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued | ||
success; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Mr. Mendoza as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. | ||
