R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, On December 10, 2022, Captain Luis Gonzalez was
  honored by the City of Eagle Pass for his 25 years of dedicated
  service to the Eagle Pass Fire Department; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed first responder began his career with
  the department on May 30, 1997; after earning promotion to
  lieutenant in 2005, he went on to become captain in 2008; among his
  many responsibilities, he is the emergency medical services course
  coordinator for the Eagle Pass EMS Training Program; and
         WHEREAS, Over the years, Captain Gonzalez has continued his
  professional development, earning certifications as a master
  structure firefighter, BLS instructor, hazmat technician, and
  paramedic, among others; he has also completed courses in hazmat
  emergency response, confined space rescue, explosive threats, and
  swift water rescue and has undergone Homeland Security training in
  the response to radiological and nuclear weapons of mass
  destruction; he holds a bachelor of science degree in fire and
  emergency management; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Captain Gonzalez has
  exemplified the highest ideals of his profession and contributed
  immeasurably to the safety and well-being of his fellow Texans, and
  it is a pleasure to join in recognizing him for his notable record
  of service; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Captain Luis Gonzalez for his 25 years
  of service to the Eagle Pass Fire Department and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for continued success with his important work;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Captain Gonzalez as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
