AN ACT
  relating to training by the Texas Department of Transportation on
  the recognition and prevention of smuggling and trafficking of
  persons.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter F, Chapter 201, Transportation Code,
  is amended by adding Section 201.407 to read as follows:
         Sec. 201.407.  TRAINING ON SMUGGLING AND TRAFFICKING OF
  PERSONS. (a)  The department shall develop and make available to
  employees of the department a training course on the recognition
  and prevention of smuggling and trafficking of persons.
         (b)  The department, in collaboration with the office of the
  attorney general, shall establish the content of the training
  developed under Subsection (a).
         (c)  On the date an employee begins employment with the
  department, the department shall provide notice to the employee of
  the availability of the training developed under Subsection (a).
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
