| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 531, Government Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 531.0586 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 531.0586. BILL OF RIGHTS FOR HOME HEALTH CARE | ||
| ATTENDANTS AT CERTAIN LONG-TERM CARE FACILITIES. (a) The | ||
| commission, in collaboration with the Texas Workforce Commission, | ||
| shall prepare and publish on the commission's Internet website a | ||
| bill of rights for home health care attendants employed by a | ||
| long-term care facility licensed under Chapter 103, Human Resources | ||
| Code, or Chapter 242, 247, 248A, or 252, Health and Safety Code. | ||
| (b) The bill of rights must include a description of any | ||
| federal or state labor laws applicable to home health care | ||
| attendants. | ||
| (c) A facility described by Subsection (a) must provide each | ||
| home health care attendant employed by the facility with a copy of | ||
| the bill of rights. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
