A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to certain requirements for the administration of the
  Coordinated Admission Program (CAP) at The University of Texas at
  Austin.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter B, Chapter 67, Education Code, is
  amended by adding Section 67.28 to read as follows:
         Sec. 67.28.  COORDINATED ADMISSION PROGRAM. In
  administering the Coordinated Admission Program (CAP) or a
  successor admissions program under which a student may earn
  guaranteed transfer admission to the university after successfully
  completing specified program requirements while enrolled for the
  student's freshman year at another participating institution of
  higher education within The University of Texas System, the
  university, in allotting CAP admission slots among participating
  institutions for an academic year, shall reserve a portion of
  admission slots at each participating institution for students who
  are enrolled at that institution at the time they apply for
  admission to CAP.
         SECTION 2.  Section 67.28, Education Code, as added by this
  Act, applies beginning with admissions to the Coordinated Admission
  Program at The University of Texas at Austin for the 2020-2021
  academic year.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
