A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the regulation of salvage vehicle dealers.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 2302.101, Occupations Code, is amended
  to read as follows:
         Sec. 2302.101.  LICENSE REQUIRED FOR SALVAGE VEHICLE DEALER.
  Unless a person holds a salvage vehicle dealer license issued under
  this chapter or an independent motor vehicle dealer's general
  distinguishing number issued under Chapter 503, Transportation
  Code, the person may not:
               (1)  act as a salvage vehicle dealer or rebuilder; or
               (2)  store or display a motor vehicle as an agent or
  escrow agent of an insurance company.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
