Summary
To amend chapter 44 of title 18, United States Code, to extend the period during which a firearms licensee is required to wait for a response from the national instant criminal background check system before being allowed to transfer a firearm to a prospective transferee. This bill amends the federal criminal code to lengthen from 3 to 14 business days the submitted background check completion period that must elapse before a licensed gun dealer is permitted to transfer a firearm to an unlicensed person whose background check remains incomplete.
