Summary
Authorizes grants for states to implement extreme risk protection order laws (also known as red flag laws). An extreme risk protection order law permits a state court to issue an order that prohibits an individual from purchasing, possessing, or receiving a firearm. Additionally, persons subject to extreme risk protection orders constitute a new category of prohibited persons (i.e., persons barred from receiving, possessing, shipping, or transporting a firearm or ammunition).
