Summary

Addresses protections for service members living in private military housing. Among other things, the bill (1) clarifies who is a landlord, (2) specifies housing oversight mechanisms and tenant rights, (3) creates a tenant complaint database, (4) establishes presumptions and medical coverage with respect to certain illnesses occurring while in such housing, (5) prohibits certain housing ownership interests, (6) allows the Department of Defense (DOD) to modify certain contracts, and (7) requires DOD to make certain reports.
