Summary

Extends the deadline for the use of sums from the Coronavirus Relief Fund for states or local governments that use such funds to respond to the COVID-19 (i.e., coronavirus disease 2019) public health emergency in accordance with a qualifying economic development plan until December 31, 2022 (currently, funds may be used for costs incurred through December 30, 2020). The plan must be approved by the state or the governing board of a university before December 30, 2020. Such funds may be used, in accordance with such plan, for costs of the state or local government that are necessary expenditures incurred due to the public health emergency and were not accounted for in the budget most recently approved as of this bill's enactment.
