HOUSE BILL NO. 1704 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by the House Committee on Education) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Delegate Reid) House Amendments in [ ] -- February 4, 2019 A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Article 1 of Chapter 6 of Title 23.1 a section numbered 23.1-611.1, relating to the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia; financial aid award notification.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 1 of Chapter 6 of Title 23.1 a section numbered 23.1-611.1 as follows:

§23.1-611.1. Financial aid award notification.

Any comprehensive financial aid award notification provided to a student by a public institution of higher education or [ nonprofit ] private institution of higher education shall meet the requirements and best practices established by the Council in its Financial Aid Award Letters Policies and Guidance.
