A BILL to require the Department of Medical Assistance
Services to amend the state plan for medical assistance to allow for
supplemental rebate agreements involving value-based purchasing arrangements
for covered drugs.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. §1. That the Department of Medical Assistance Services (the Department) shall amend the state plan for medical assistance pursuant to Title XIX of the Social Security Act to allow the Department to negotiate supplemental rebate agreements involving value-based purchasing arrangements for covered drugs with drug manufacturers. Rebates paid pursuant to such agreements shall be in addition to rebates available pursuant the National Drug Rebate Agreement.
