HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 532
Celebrating the life of Harvey Lemuel Williams III.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, August 17, 2015

WHEREAS, Harvey Lemuel Williams III of Mathews, a respected business leader in Central Virginia, died on June 30, 2015; and

WHEREAS, a native of Richmond, Harvey Williams graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where he was a member of the German Club and upheld the integrity of the university on the civilian honor court; and

WHEREAS, after completing his education, Harvey Williams worked for Manchester Paper Board, now Federal Paper Board, and became manager of engineering for the southern division; and

WHEREAS, in 1969, Harvey Williams joined Hawkins-Hamilton Company and followed in his father's footsteps as president and chief executive officer; he also founded and served as president of Gadwall Investment Properties and Pine Hall Helicopter Charters; and

WHEREAS, an active member of the community, Harvey Williams served on the boards of the Richmond Engineers Club, Mathews Yacht Club, Mathews Community Foundation, and what is now Sabot at Stony Point; and

WHEREAS, Harvey Williams enjoyed fellowship and worship with the community as a member of Christ Church Kingston Parish in Mathews; and

WHEREAS, Harvey Williams will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 54 years, Patricia; sons, David and George, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Harvey Lemuel Williams III; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Harvey Lemuel Williams III as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
