HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 557
Commending the Woodgrove High School girls' lacrosse team.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, August 17, 2015

WHEREAS, the Woodgrove High School girls' lacrosse team claimed its second consecutive state title, winning the Virginia High School League Group 4A state championship in 2015; and

WHEREAS, the Woodgrove High School Wolverines bested the Western Albemarle High School Warriors by a score of 16 - 8 to finish the season with an impressive 18 - 3 record; and

WHEREAS, after a tense first half, the Woodgrove High School Wolverines took decisive control of the game in the second half of the state final; the Wolverines' disciplined defense forced 16 turnovers and stayed out of the penalty box for the entire game; and

WHEREAS, goalie Ashley Morris came up with eight big saves, and midfielder Nora Bowen led the Woodgrove High School Wolverines with six goals and two assists; and

WHEREAS, the victory is a testament to the hard work and skill of the athletes, the able leadership of the coaches and staff, and the energetic support of the Woodgrove High School community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Woodgrove High School girls' lacrosse team hereby be commended on winning the 2015 Virginia High School League Group 4A state championship; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Woodgrove High School girls' lacrosse team as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the team's accomplishments and best wishes for the future.
