HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 559
Commending the Loudoun Valley High School boys' track and field team.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, August 17, 2015

WHEREAS, the Loudoun Valley High School boys' track and field team of Purcellville won the Virginia High School League Group 3A state championship at Harrisonburg High School on June 6, 2015; and

WHEREAS, the Loudoun Valley High School Vikings finished strong in their events for an overall score of 56 points, topping the runner-up Heritage High School Hurricanes by an impressive 10 points; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Hunter took the gold medal in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:23.62 and placed second in the 800-meter run; and

WHEREAS, the Loudoun Valley High School Vikings also took second place in the 1,600-meter relay and fourth place in the 3,200-meter relay; Ben Stapleton placed third in shot put, Nate Thompson placed second in the 400-meter dash, and Peter Morris placed sixth in the 3,200-meter run; and

WHEREAS, the victory is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the athletes, the leadership of the coaches and staff, and the enthusiastic support of the entire Loudoun Valley High School community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Loudoun Valley High School boys' track and field team hereby be commended on winning the 2015 Virginia High School League Group 3A state championship; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Paul Hall, head coach of the Loudoun Valley High School boys' track and field team, as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the team's achievements and best wishes for the future.
