WHEREAS, J. Christopher LaGow, who has honorably served the legislative branch of the Commonwealth through many professions, celebrates his 50th session of working with the General Assembly; and

WHEREAS, Christopher "Chris" LaGow began his experience with the General Assembly in 1964 as a page and subsequently worked in the mailroom and the copy room; and

WHEREAS, Chris LaGow attended Douglas Freeman High School in Richmond, received his bachelor's degree in history and political science from the University of Richmond in 1972, and received his juris doctor degree from Loyola University in 1978; and

WHEREAS, Chris LaGow founded the law office of J. Christopher LaGow in 1999, where he specializes in legislative and regulatory issues; he is a member of the Virginia State Bar, Virginia Bar Association, Richmond Bar Association, and Henrico Bar Association; and

WHEREAS, Chris LaGow has received many awards and accolades for his work in local government, including the Governor's Transportation Safety Award in the Legal Category for his work on behalf of various transportation safety initiatives, and he has been frequently recognized in Virginia Business magazine as being among the Legal Elite of the Commonwealth for his work in legislative and regulatory practice areas; and

WHEREAS, respected among his peers and family, Chris LaGow is a tireless attorney and advocate, representing a diverse set of interests, who works to educate legislators as they make decisions to benefit all residents of the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That J. Christopher LaGow hereby be commended for 50 years of service to the Commonwealth; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to J. Christopher LaGow as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his decades of work with the General Assembly.
