Summary

This bill mandates that a physician must ensure that all offices of a practice are properly managed by visiting each office at least once a month. This bill updates the Subchapter of the Medical Practice Act relating to physician assistants. The Regulatory Council of Physician Assistants will: propose rules and regulations in accordance within the Administrative Procedures Act; evaluate applications for licensing as a physician assistant; and will make disciplinary recommendations. The bill also requires a written agreement identifying the physician assistant’s role. The bill provides for a limitation on a physician assistant’s liability in rendering care during a disaster or emergency. Finally, the bill provides a process for placing a physician assistant’s license on inactive status and re-activating a license.
