HOUSE BILL 2028

 

 

 

AN ACT

 

Repealing section 41-3010.06, Arizona Revised Statutes; amending title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41‑3020.06; relating to the commission for the deaf and the hard of hearing.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Repeal

Section 41-3010.06, Arizona Revised Statutes, is repealed.

Sec. 2.  Title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-3020.06, to read:

START_STATUTE41-3020.06.  Commission for the deaf and the hard of hearing; termination July 1, 2020

A.  The commission for the deaf and the hard of hearing terminates on July 1, 2020.

B.  Title 36, chapter 17.1 is repealed on January 1, 2021. END_STATUTE

Sec. 3.  Purpose

Pursuant to section 41-2955, subsection B, Arizona Revised Statutes, the legislature continues the commission for the deaf and the hard of hearing to act as a bureau of information to the deaf and the hard of hearing and state agencies that provide services to the deaf and the hard of hearing and to protect the public by regulating the practice of interpreting.

Sec. 4.  Retroactivity

Sections 1 and 2 of this act are effective retroactively to July 1, 2010.
