AN ACT

 

Amending Title 17, chapter 3, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 17‑308.01; relating to the taking and handling of wildlife.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 17, chapter 3, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 17-308.01, to read:

START_STATUTE17-308.01.  Unlawful activities near water holes, stockponds and other man‑made watering facilities; notice; civil penalty

A.  A person may not do any of the following within one hundred yards of a natural water hole containing water or a stockpond or other man‑made watering facility containing water:

1.  Set up a blind, lie in wait or otherwise conceal oneself for the purpose of taking wildlife.

2.  Field dress taken wildlife.

B.  A landowner or lessee of private land may post a notice or sign to notify persons of the activities prohibited by this section.

C.  The commission may impose a civil penalty of not more than $250 against any person who violates subsection A of this section.END_STATUTE
