AN ACT
amending title 9, chapter 4, article 8, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 9‑500.29; amending title 11, chapter 2, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 11‑251.13; amending title 11, chapter 7, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding article 8; relating to ENFORCEMENT of immigration laws.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 9, chapter 4, article 8, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 9-500.29, to read:
9-500.29. Limitation or prohibition on enforcement of federal immigration law prohibited
A city or town or a law enforcement agency of a city or town shall not enact an ordinance, rule, order or resolution or adopt an immigration policy that is intended to individually or collectively prohibit the lawful enforcement of the United States immigration laws.
Sec. 2. Title 11, chapter 2, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 11-251.13, to read:
11-251.13. Limitation or prohibition on enforcement of federal immigration law prohibited
The board of supervisors of a county or a law enforcement agency of a county shall not enact an ordinance, rule, order or resolution or adopt an immigration policy that is intended to individually or collectively prohibit the lawful enforcement of the United States immigration laws.
Sec. 3. Title 11, chapter 7, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding article 8, to read:
ARTICLE 8. ENFORCEMENT OF IMMIGRATION LAWS
11-1051. Cooperation and assistance in enforcement of immigration laws
Except as provided in federal law, officials, agencies or personnel of counties, cities and towns may not be prohibited or in any way restricted from sending, receiving or maintaining information relating to the immigration status, lawful or unlawful, of any individual or exchanging that information with any other federal, state or local governmental entity for the following official purposes:
1. Determining eligibility for any federal, state or local public benefit, service or license.
2. Verifying any claim of legal domicile if legal domicile is required by law or contract.
3. Confirming the identity of any person who is arrested.
