HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 2035

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

supporting the designation of the honor and remember flag in honor of the members of the united states armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

(TEXT OF BILL BEGINS ON NEXT PAGE)

Whereas, since the Revolutionary War, more than one million members of the United States armed forces have paid the ultimate price by sacrificing their lives in service to their country; and

Whereas, there currently is no officially recognized symbol in remembrance of these brave individuals or their sacrifice; and

Whereas, H.R. 1034, introduced in the 111th Congress, would designate the Honor and Remember Flag as an official symbol to recognize and honor members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty; and

Whereas, the Honor and Remember Flag would stand as a simple but powerful symbol of national gratitude for the thousands of American men and women who bravely made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve the freedoms we enjoy; and

Whereas, the Honor and Remember flag would be congressionally and militarily sanctioned as a permanent symbol to fly continuously in eternal honor and remembrance of all fallen military personnel.

Therefore

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona, the Senate concurring:

That the Members of the Legislature support the enactment of federal legislation that would designate the Honor and Remember Flag, and encourage all Arizona citizens to honor and remember the members of our nation's armed forces who have died while serving in the line of duty.
