recognizing the faculty and staff of arizona state university for their outstanding contributions to the state of arizona.

Whereas, the exceptional faculty and staff of Arizona State University, both past and present, have shown their continued commitment to higher education; and

Whereas, the university system has not been immune to the turmoil of the state budget crisis; and

Whereas, despite unsure economic times, the faculty and staff of the university have never lost sight of the importance of their role in shaping the future of the state; and

Whereas, the current and retired faculty of the Mary Lou Fulton College of Education have provided nationally ranked majors and doctoral programs; and

Whereas, the current and retired faculty of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication have been consistently ranked in the Top Ten Hearst Intercollegiate Journalism Competition; and

Whereas, the current and retired faculty of the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering have maintained excellent graduate degree programs; and

Whereas, the current and retired faculty of the university's School of Public Affairs have offered a top thirty ranked public administration master's program; and

Whereas, the current and retired faculty of the university's College of Design have provided students with rigorous and highly ranked programs; and

Whereas, the current and retired faculty of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law have been ranked among the top thirty law faculties in the nation based on scholarly impact and academic reputation; and

Whereas, the current and retired faculty of the W. P. Carey School of Business have offered nationally ranked business education programs; and

Whereas, the current and retired faculty of the College of Liberal Arts and Science have served vast numbers of students studying subjects ranging from anthropology to urban planning; and

Whereas, the current and retired faculty of the university's Global Institute of Sustainability have led efforts to make Arizona State University a leader in environmental sustainability; and

Whereas, Arizona State University's proven commitment to excellence in higher education and dedication to serving students, community and humanity have earned its faculty and staff, both past and present, well-deserved national accolades.

Therefore

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona, the Senate concurring:

That the Members of the Legislature recognize the past and present faculty and staff of Arizona State University for their longstanding record of excellence and for their many contributions to the State of Arizona.
