AN ACT

 

Amending title 32, chapter 32, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 32-3219; relating to health professionals.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 32, chapter 32, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 32-3219, to read:

START_STATUTE32-3219.  Health profession regulatory boards; alcohol and substance abuse treatment

If a health profession regulatory board orders a health professional to seek alcohol or substance abuse treatment and the health profession regulatory board does not have an established program for this treatment, the health professional shall provide to the board the names and professional credentials of three psychologists or psychiatrists, the names and sponsors of continuing education courses or treatment facilities or other requested items that relate to the rehabilitation of the health professional.  The health profession regulatory board shall review the information received from the health professional and make the final choice of the requested treatment facility, evaluation or continuing education program for the rehabilitation of the health professional.
