AN ACT
amending section 41-4201, Arizona Revised Statutes; relating to the arizona rangers.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Section 41-4201, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended to read:
41-4201. Arizona rangers; border security activities
A. The Arizona rangers are an unpaid, noncommissioned civilian auxiliary that is available for the purpose of assisting and supporting law enforcement in this state. The Arizona rangers do not possess any law enforcement or investigative powers that are not provided or established in law for all citizens of this state. Law enforcement support and assistance services are provided on the request of, and under the direction, control and supervision of, established law enforcement officials or officers.
B. The Arizona rangers may engage in border security activities in accordance with a proclamation by the governor proclaiming there is a need for border security under the circumstances and for the protection of the lives or property of the people of this state and requesting members of the Arizona rangers to serve as volunteers to conduct these activities.
C. The Arizona rangers may enter into mutual assistance and support agreements pertaining to border security activities with law enforcement agencies operating in this state.
