An act to amend Section 14134.55 of the Welfare and Institutions Code, relating to Medi-Cal.

AB 2692, as introduced, Cooper. Medi-Cal: lactation support.
Existing law establishes the Medi-Cal program, which is administered by the State Department of Health Care Services and under which qualified low-income individuals receive health care services. The Medi-Cal program is, in part, governed and funded by federal Medicaid program provisions. Existing law requires the department to streamline and simplify Medi-Cal program procedures to improve access to lactation supports and breast pumps among Medi-Cal beneficiaries.
This bill would provide that lactation supports include lactation specialists.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 14134.55 of the Welfare and Institutions Code is amended to read:

14134.55.
 The department shall streamline and simplify existing Medi-Cal program procedures in order to improve access to lactation supports supports, including lactation specialists, and breast pumps among Medi-Cal recipients. beneficiaries.
