CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE—
2017–2018 REGULAR SESSION
Assembly Bill | No. 821 |
Introduced by Assembly Member Waldron |
February 15, 2017 |
An act to amend Section 131019 of the Health and Safety Code, relating to HIV/AIDS.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
AB 821, as introduced, Waldron.
Office of AIDS.
Existing law establishes the Office of AIDS in the State Department of Public Health and designates the office as the lead agency within the state responsible for coordinating state programs, services, and activities relating to the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS), and AIDS-related conditions (ARC). Existing law requires the office to coordinate provisions relating to, among other things, funding clinical research, needs assessments, studies, and program evaluations, AIDS research and workshop grants, the confidentiality of research records relating to HIV or AIDS, early intervention projects, and HIV treatment.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to those provisions.
