   An act relating to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   SB 1452, as introduced, Anderson. Commission on Teacher
Credentialing: teacher misconduct.
   Existing law requires the Commission on Teacher Credentialing to
appoint a Committee of Credentials that is authorized to review an
allegation of misconduct of an applicant for, or holder of, a
credential, as specified. Existing law requires the committee to
report its recommendations of adverse actions to the commission,
which may be adopted by the commission under specified conditions.
   This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation that would direct the commission to undertake all
procedural and statutory changes necessary to increase the number of
cases of teacher misconduct that the commission reviews each month.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation that would direct the Commission on Teacher Credentialing
to undertake all procedural and statutory changes necessary to
increase the number of cases of teacher misconduct that the
commission reviews each month.
