   An act relating to education finance.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   SB 785, as introduced, Romero. Education finance: federal American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
   Existing federal law, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
of 2009, appropriates federal funds for various federal, state, and
local programs, including funds for local educational agencies and
education-related programs.
   This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation that would implement the provisions of the act with
regard to education finance.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation to implement the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
of 2009 (Public Law 111-5) with regard to education finance.
