AN ACT INCREASING THE PREVAILING WAGE THRESHOLD FOR MUNICIPAL PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subsection (g) of section 31-53 of the general statutes be amended to provide that the state prevailing wage requirements shall not apply to municipal public works projects where the total cost of the work performed is less than one million dollars and that the threshold shall be indexed to inflation and adjusted annually as needed.

Statement of Purpose:

To increase the prevailing wage threshold for municipal construction and reconstruction projects to one million dollars and to index the threshold to inflation.
