AN ACT REQUIRING THE USE OF BUDGET SURPLUS FUNDS TO PAY INTEREST ON FEDERAL UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION LOANS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 4-30a of the general statutes be amended to require that payment of interest on loans to the state from the Federal Unemployment Account be the priority use of any budget surplus funds.

Statement of Purpose:

To require budget surplus funds to be used to pay down the state's federal unemployment compensation loan obligation.
