AN ACT CONCERNING MEDICAID COVERAGE FOR AUTISTIC WELLNESS PROGRAMS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 17a-215c of the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Developmental Services to work in consultation with the Commissioner of Social Services to (1) make any changes necessary and permissible under federal law to a state Medicaid waiver program for persons with autism spectrum disorder to provide or expand physical activity programs, and (2) provide additional state resources for transportation to and from such programs.

Statement of Purpose:

To promote the health and well-being of the state's autistic population.
