AN ACT PROHIBITING THE GRANT OF CITIZENS' ELECTION PROGRAM FUNDS TO UNOPPOSED CANDIDATES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 157 of the general statutes be amended to prohibit grants under the Citizens' Election Program to any unopposed candidate for elective office.
Statement of Purpose:
To prevent the granting of taxpayer funds to candidates for election who are running unopposed.
