AN ACT CONCERNING FINANCIAL INCENTIVES FOR SCHOOL DISTRICTS THAT MAKE CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS TO THEIR EMERGENCY RESPONSE SYSTEMS IN SCHOOLS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to establish a program to provide financial incentives to any local or regional board of education that improves the intercom system in the schools under such board's jurisdiction and makes use of a first alert system in which school personnel wear or carry a button that alerts police and first responders of emergencies in the classroom or on school grounds.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide financial incentives to school districts that increase security in schools and provide better emergency protections for children and staff.
