AN ACT CONCERNING THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2012) (a) The Commissioner of Social Services shall conduct a study of programs administered by the Department of Children and Families. Such study shall include, but not be limited to, a report on (1) factors that the commissioner deems pertinent to quality of services provided, and (2) whether improvements can be made in coordination of services.

(b) Not later than July 1, 2013, the commissioner shall submit such report, in accordance with section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to human services. Such report may include the commissioner's recommendations for addressing identified gaps in the provision of services and improving access to such services.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
Section 1	July 1, 2012	New section

To require a study of programs administered by the Department of Children and Families.
