AN ACT LIMITING THE USE OF EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION SYSTEMS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2011) Any municipality that operates its own emergency notification system, as defined by section 28-25 of the general statutes, shall use such system to contact the telephone numbers contained within the database of such system only in case of a life-threatening emergency.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose:

To limit the use of all emergency notification systems to life-threatening emergencies.
