AN ACT CONCERNING THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS ON COLLECTION OF PROPERTY TAXES ON MOTOR VEHICLES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 204 of the general statutes be amended to change the statute of limitations for collection of property taxes on motor vehicles from fifteen years to eight years, in conformity with the length of time that bank records are required to be kept.

Statement of Purpose:

To ensure that individuals will not be charged for taxes on motor vehicles where bank records are unavailable to corroborate prior payment of such taxes.
