AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO CONDUCT A PILOT PROJECT BASED ON DESIGN-BUILD AND OTHER ALTERNATIVE CONTRACTING METHODS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2011) The Department of Transportation is authorized to conduct, on a pilot basis, projects based on design-build and other alternative contracting methods. Prior to the commencement of any such project, the department shall submit a project proposal, including the criteria used by the department to select such project for design-build or other alternative contracting methods, to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to the Department of Transportation, for review and approval. Not later than three months following the completion of such pilot project, the department shall evaluate the delivery success of such project with respect to timeliness, cost and quality, and shall submit such project evaluation to such joint standing committee in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||
