AN ACT CONCERNING THE EVALUATION OF THE COMMERCIAL VEHICLE SAFETY RECORD OF A PERSON, FIRM OR CORPORATION BIDDING FOR A STATE CONTRACT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2011) No person, firm or corporation shall be disqualified from bidding on or performing under a state contract due to the results of any preliminary evaluation of the commercial vehicles safety record of such person, firm or corporation, and any such person, firm or corporation shall be entitled to a second evaluation of such safety record.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose:

To prevent the disqualification of any person, firm or corporation from bidding on a state contract due to a preliminary evaluation of their commercial vehicles safety record.
