AN ACT CONCERNING THE ASSIGNMENT OF JUDGES TO FAMILY COURT MATTERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 815j of the general statutes be amended to provide that every family court matter shall be assigned to a specific judge, who shall retain jurisdiction over the matter, unless extenuating circumstances require that a different judge be assigned to such matter.

Statement of Purpose:

To have continuity in the family court system.
