AN ACT CONCERNING HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE OF PRESCRIPTION DRUGS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to prohibit health insurance policies that provide coverage for prescription drugs from requiring an insured to use any alternative prescription drugs or over-the-counter drugs prior to using a brand name prescription drug that is prescribed by a licensed physician.

Statement of Purpose:
