AN ACT CONCERNING MEDICAID LONG-TERM CARE COVERAGE FOR MARRIED COUPLES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 319v of the general statutes be amended to require the spouse of an institutionalized person who is applying for Medicaid to receive the maximum community spouse protected amount, as determined pursuant to 42 USC 1396r-5.
Statement of Purpose:
To save the state money by delaying the community spouse's entry into a nursing home and receipt of benefits under the Medicaid program.
