AN ACT CONCERNING THE REUSE OF WORKS OF ART IN STATE BUILDINGS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 4b-53 of the general statutes be amended to (1) permit works of art already present in an existing state building that is being replaced by a new state building to be transferred to the new state building, and (2) require the State Bond Commission to include the value of the transferred works of art in calculating the one per cent of the total estimated construction costs of the new state building required to be allocated to purchase works of art.

Statement of Purpose:

To reduce state spending by reusing existing artwork in state buildings.
