AN ACT CONCERNING AN INCREASE IN THE HOTEL TAX.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 12-408 of the general statutes be amended to increase the hotel tax from the current rate of twelve per cent to a new rate of fourteen per cent, and to distribute half of the new revenues to the hotel host municipalities and half to the state.

Statement of Purpose:

To capture more revenue, especially from out-of-staters.
