AN ACT CONCERNING COMPLAINTS TO THE STATE ELECTIONS ENFORCEMENT COMMISSION.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 9-7a of the general statutes be amended to provide that in the case of a written complaint filed with the State Elections Enforcement Commission, not later than one year after a determination that probable cause exists for the violation that is the subject of such complaint, the commission shall (1) conclude any investigation conducted or hearing held or issue any order thereon, or (2) dismiss such complaint.

Statement of Purpose:

To require to the State Elections Enforcement Commission to conclude proceedings on complaints within one year or otherwise dismiss any such complaint.
