AN ACT ALLOWING THE SPOUSE OF AN INSTITUTIONALIZED PERSON TO RETAIN THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT UNDER FEDERAL LAW.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to allow the community spouse of an institutionalized Medicaid recipient to retain the maximum amount possible under federal law.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow community spouses of institutionalized Medicaid recipients sufficient funds to live independently in the community.
