AN ACT CONCERNING CREDIT IN THE STATE EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM FOR ALL PRIOR STATE SERVICE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to provide that any former member of the state employees retirement system who (1) was previously employed by the state, (2) left state service for a period longer than the tenure of such member's employment with the state, and (3) is currently employed by the state, shall be entitled to retirement credit for such earlier period of service, provided such member applies to the State Employees Retirement Commission for such credited service.

Statement of Purpose:

To credit all prior state service for the purposes of state employee retirement.
