AN ACT CONCERNING STATE EMPLOYEE RETIREMENT BENEFITS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to, effective immediately for all state employees and officials exempt from classified service and applicable to employees included in any collective bargaining agreement negotiated or renewed after the passage of this act, increase the level of state employee contribution into the Other Post Employment Benefits trust fund, increase the age that state employees are eligible for retirement and early retirement, permit only those state employees who go directly into retirement to be eligible to receive health care benefits, require the age of retirement and time of service to equal eighty years or more and require state employees who retire with less than twenty-five years of experience to pay premiums on a sliding scale based on years of service.

Statement of Purpose:

To create parity between state and private health insurance plans.
