AN ACT REQUIRING THE SUBMISSION OF ALL MEDICAL MALPRACTICE CLAIMS TO ARBITRATION PANELS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 900 of the general statutes be amended to require that all medical malpractice claims be submitted to arbitration panels consisting of a judge, doctor and an attorney with a medical background and that the submission of such claims to arbitration shall be in lieu of the mandatory mediation prescribed in section 52-190c of the general statutes.
Statement of Purpose:
To encourage pretrial settlement of medical malpractice claims.
